BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech has announced several updates to the 2016-17 men’s basketball schedule. Five game times have been updated and one game time has been rescheduled to accomodate national television.
The Hokies’ home game on Dec. 20 against Charleston Southern, originally set for 7 p.m., has been changed to a 9 p.m. tip-off in order to allow for the game to be televised nationally by ESPNU. This will increase the Hokies’ national television appearances to at least 15 for the upcoming season.
New home game times that have been set are: Nov. 19 vs. VMI, 7 p.m.; Dec. 7 vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore, 8:30 p.m.; Dec. 17 vs. The Citadel, 1 p.m. and Dec. 28 vs. UMBC, 7 p.m. The Dec. 7 game will be the second game of a men’s/women’s basketball doubleheader in Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies’ women’s basketball team will host Central Connecticut State at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7.
The Hokies will have at least 25 games televised and all 18 of the Hokies’ ACC games will be televised this season. All conference games carried on an ESPN network also will be available on WatchESPN. All conference games carried on the ACC Network, ACC Network Extra or a regional sports network also will be available on ESPN3.
