Virginia Tech will face 11^th seed Florida State in the second round of the 2016 New York Life ACC Tournament. The game will tip-off after 9 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Florida State defeated Boston College, 88-66, in the first round on Tuesday afternoon.

About Tech in the Tournament

The Hokies enter the 2016 New York Life ACC Tournament 18-13 overall and 10-8 in ACC action … The Hokies, winners of five consecutive games, are the sixth seed and will play Florida State game on Wednesday, March 9 at 9 p.m. in the Verizon Center ... Tech earned a opening-day bye in the tournament, to be played March 8-12 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

The Hokies closed out the regular season on a five-game winning streak, as they upset No. 7/7 Miami, 77-62, on Saturday afternoon in Cassell Coliseum ... After Miami opened the game with a three-pointer, Tech took an early lead and never surrendered it, racing out to a 32-21 lead at the intermission and never trailing in the second half ... Justin Bibbs led four Hokies in double-figures with 19 points in the win ... Tech shot 52.9 percent from the field, including 58.3 percent in the second half.

Zach is Honored

Zach LeDay has been named honorable mention All-ACC for the 2015-16 season by the ACC coaches and the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association ... Entering the 2016 ACC Tournament, the redshirt junior is averaging 15.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game in his first season with the Hokies.
