GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Virginia Tech is the sixth seed in the 63rd annual New York Life ACC Tournament which begins on Tuesday, March 8 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
By virtue of the sixth seed, the Hokies will begin play on Wednesday, March 9 at 9 p.m. Tech will play the winner of the No. 11 seed Florida State vs. No. 14 seed Boston College game, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Virginia Tech’s opening game in the tournament will be televised live by ESPN2 and the ACC Network.
North Carolina will be the top seed and Virginia is the second seed. Miami is the third seed and Notre Dame is the fourth seed. Those four teams receive double-byes and will begin play on Thursday.
The Hokies enter the tournament 18-13 overall and 10-8 in conference action. Tech arrive in Washington winners of five consecutive games. The Hokies defeated both the Seminoles and the Eagles this season.
