Tech begins two-game homestand
Virginia Tech vs. Pittsburgh Game Notes

Virginia Tech hosts Pittsburgh on Wednesday night to begin a regular season-ending two-game homestand. The game, scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off, will be shown on ESPN3.

About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies enter tonight’s game 16-13 overall and 8-8 in ACC action … Pittsburgh is 20-8 on the season and 9-7 in league play … Pitt defeated the Hokies, 90-71, in Pittsburgh on Jan. 31.

Last Time Out: VT 81, WFU 74

The Hokies earned their third ACC road win of the season with an 81-74 victory at Wake Forest on Sunday night … Justin Bibbs led all scorers with 22 points and Zach LeDay added 17 points and eight rebounds … Seth Allen and Justin Robinson scored 14 points each.

Series Against the Panthers

The Panthers lead the all-time series, 7-4 … Pitt won the last meeting, 90-71, in Pittsburgh in January … Tech is 3-1 in home games in the series, all being played in Cassell Coliseum … Tech won the last game played in Cassell, 70-67, in overtime in 2015 … Tech is 1-2 in ACC games against the Panthers.

Getting It Done In The Classroom

Devin Wilson and Jalen Hudson have been named to the 2016 All-ACC Academic team … This is Wilson’s second year on the team and Hudson makes it for the first time.

With the win at Wake Forest on Sunday, the Hokies have clinched a first round bye in the upcoming ACC Tournament ... This is the fifth time since joining the ACC in the 2004-05 season that Tech has earned an off-day during the first round of the tournament.
