Virginia Tech travels to Charlottesville to take on the seventh-ranked Cavaliers on Tuesday night in John Paul Jones Arena. The game, tipping off at 8 p.m., will be shown on The ACC Network. The game is part of the Virginia529 Commonwealth Clash.

About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies enter tonight’s game 13-11 overall and 5-6 in ACC action … Virginia is 19-4 on the season and 8-3 in league play … The Cavaliers are ranked seventh in both polls this week.

The Hokies held off Clemson, 60-57, in Cassell Coliseum on Saturday ... Tech jumped out to a 12-point lead with 7:33 remaining, but the Tigers came back and took a 52-51 lead with 2:43 remaining ... Tech regained the lead for good less than 30 seconds later on a layup by Kerry Blackshear Jr. ... Tech did not allow the Tigers to get a shot in the final 12 seconds on their final possession and Tech took the win ... Zach LeDay led all scorers with 19 points and added 12 rebounds and four blocked shots, earning his eighth double-double of the season ... Jalen Hudson added 13 points, Justin Bibbs had 12 points and Seth Allen chipped in with 10 points in the win.

Series Against the Cavaliers

This is the Hokies longest-played rivalry ... Virginia leads the all-time series, 88-54, but Tech won the most recent match-up, 70-68, on Jan. 4 in Cassell Coliseum ... Virginia Tech is 13-35 against Virginia in road games, and 3-6 in games in JP Jones Arena ... Tech is 8-15 against Virginia in ACC competition … Along with Blacksburg and Charlottesville, the two teams have met in Roanoke, Richmond, Hampton, Salem, Lynchburg and Greensboro, N.C.

Zach LeDay came off the bech with 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Hokies to a 60-57 win over Clemson on Saturday ... That marked his eighth double-double of the season and first in ACC play ... That is the most double-doubles for a Hokie since Jeff Allen had 15 double-doubles in the 2010-11 season ... Led by LeDay’s eight double-doubles, the Hokies have 14 double-doubles this season, the most since that same 2010-11 season, when Tech played combined for 18 double-doubles.

Cassell Heated Up in February

The Hokies defeated Clemson on Saturday in a sold-out Cassell Coliseum ... That marked Tech’s third sellout of the season and its first February sellout against a team other than Virginia, Duke or North Carolina since Feb. 18, 2012, a sellout against Georgia Tech ... Tech sold out Cassell Coliseum later that season on March 4 against NC State.
