PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Virginia Tech lost to Pittsburgh, 90-71, in ACC men’s basketball action Sunday night at the Peterson Events Center. With the loss, the Hokies fall to 12-10 overall and 4-5 in league play, while the Panthers improve to 17-4 overall and 6-3 in ACC action.

The Hokies kept the game close through most of the first half, but fell behind 41-32 at the intermission. In the second half, Pitt got out to a fast start, never trailed after the break and went on to the victory.

Seth Allen led the Hokies with a Virginia Tech career-high 28 points, to go along with six rebounds and three assists. Jalen Hudson scored 13 points and Justin Bibbs and Zach LeDay had 12 points each. Sheldon Jeter led three Panthers in double-figures with 23 points.

The Hokies shot 45.1 percent from the line, including, 52.4 percent from three-point range. Pitt shot 52.9 percent, including 59.3 percent in the first half. Tech was able to keep the rebounding battle close, 34-32 in favor of Pitt, but committed 20 turnovers, which led to 33 Pittsburgh points.

Tech continues this two-game road trip on Tuesday night, as they travel to Syracuse to face the Orange. Game time is 8 p.m. and the game will be shown on The ACC Network.
