Freshman forward Chris Clarke suffered a fracture to the fifth metatarsal in his right foot and had successful surgery on Dec. 29 ... The injury occurred working out during the Christmas break ... Clarke had started 10 of the first 12 games of the season and is averaging 10.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
Shane Steps Up
Entering the West Virginia game, senior Shane Henry had scored a combined 11 points on the season ... Entering the game with 2:58 remaining in the first half, Henry would play a season-high16 minutes and record a career-high 12 points, to go along with four rebounds ... He was four-of-four from the field in the game.
Bibbs At the Top
Justin Bibbs leads Division I and the ACC in three-point field goal percentage, at 60.0 percent ... He has made 33 of his 55 attempts this season and now shoots 47.6 percent from three for his career.
Keeping It Consistent
With his 11 points against West Virginia, Zach LeDay has now scored in double-figures in 11 of the Hokies’ 13 games this season.
Doubling Our Pleasure
With his 10 point, 11 rebound performance against St. Joseph’s, Zach LeDay recorded his seventh double-double of the season, in just 13 games ... The last Hokies to record seven double-doubles in a single season was Jeff Allen, with 15 double-doubles in the 2010-11 season.
Tough, Busy Week
While most of America looks at this time of year for some rest and time off, the Hokies take a totally 180 degree look at this week ... Beginning on this past Wednesday, the Hokies play three games in the six days, two against nationally-ranked teams and all three at Cassell Coliseum ...
