About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies enter tonight’s game as the 14-seed and are 11-21 overall … Miami is the 6-seed and is 20-11 overall … This is the third meeting of the season between the two schools ... Miami has won the last two meetings, most recently an 82-61 victory on Saturday in Cassell Coliseum.

Last Game: VT 81, Wake Forest 80

In an exciting contest on Opening Day at the ACC Tournament, the Hokies defeated Wake Forest, 81-80, on Monday afternoon ... After the Demon Deacons took an 80-79 lead on a three-pointer by Dinos Mitoglou with 25 seconds remaining, Hokie freshman Jalen Hudson scored his 32nd point of the contest with 12 seconds remaining to give Tech an 81-80 lead ... Wake had several opportunities in the closing seconds, but could not capitalize and the Hokies held on for the win ... Hudson led all scorers with a career-high 32 points and Ahmed Hill added 12 points in the win ... Tech committed a season-low four turnovers and shot 48.4 percent from the floor.

Hudson’s Big Day

Jalen Hudson scored a career-high 32 points in the win over Wake Forest on Tuesday ... That total sets a new Virginia Tech record for points in an ACC Tournament game ... The old mark was 26 points by A.D. Vassallo against North Carolina in the 2009 ACC Tournament in the Georgia Dome .. The 32 points is tied for the third-most in an ACC Tournament first round contest.
