Three Hokies named to All-ACC Academic Team
Beyer, Johnston and Wilson honored

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three Virginia Tech men’s basketball players have been named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Basketball team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.

Will Johnston, a senior from Midlothian, Viriginia, Christian Beyer, a senior from New Bern, North Carolina and Devin Wilson, a sophomore from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania were named to the team. Johnston was named to the 2014 team and Beyer earned the honor in 2013. This is Wilson’s first year on the team.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

Johnston and Beyer will be honored at Senior Day on Saturday in Cassell Coliseum, as the Hokies will host Miami at noon. There were 22 players honored on this year’s team and Beyer and Johnston are two of six of the players to make the team at least twice.
