Virginia Tech begins a two-game homestand on Monday night, as they host ACC foe Boston College. The game, scheduled for a 9 p.m. tip-off, will air on ESPNU.

About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies enter tonight’s game 10-19 overall and 2-14 in ACC action … Boston College is 10-18 overall and 2-14 in conference play … This is the only meeting of the season between the two schools.

Last Game: No. 2/3 Virginia 69, VT 57

The Hokies lost at No. 2/3 Virginia, 69-57, on Saturday afternoon in John Paul Jones Arena ... Tech trailed by four with 7:30 remaining, but Virginia finished on a 19-11 run to secure the 69-57 victory ... Adam Smith led the Hokies with 19 points and Ahmed Hill added 10 points in the loss ... Tech out rebounded the Cavaliers, 31-29.

Series Against the Eagles

This will be the 26th meeting between the two schools, in a series that dates back to 1981 … The Eagles lead the all-time series, 17-8 … Tech has lost the last three games in the series, most recently a 76-52 loss in Conte Forum last January … Virginia Tech is 6-6 against BC in home games, all being played in Cassell Coliseum … Only one of the previous 25 meetings was played prior to Virginia Tech joining the Big East Conference in 2000.

The Honors Keep Coming for Beyer

Christian Beyer has been named a recipient of the Weaver-James-Corrigan Award, given annually by the ACC ... The postgraduate scholarships are awarded to selected student-athletes who intend to pursue a graduate degree following completion of their undergraduate requirements ... Each recipient will receive $5,000 toward his or her graduate education ... Those honored have performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sport, while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community.
