Hokies return to Cassell Coliseum for rematch with Seminoles

Virginia Tech returns to Cassell Coliseum on Saturday afternoon to face the Florida State Seminoles. The game, to be shown live on The ACC Network, will tip off at 3 p.m.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies enter today’s game 9-13 overall and 1-8 in ACC action … Florida State is 12-11 overall and 4-6 in conference play … This is the second meeting between the two schools this season, as FSU defeated the Hokies, 86-75, in Tallahassee on Jan. 6.

Last Time Out: Syracuse 72, VT 70

The Hokies dropped another tough road game at Syracuse, 72-70, on Tuesday night ... Justin Bibbs led all scorers with 19 points and Jalen Hudson added 18 points for Tech ... Adam Smith had 13 points and Shane Henry had nine points and eight rebounds in just seven minutes of action.

Beyer Earns Academic Award

Virginia Tech forward Christian Beyer has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 3 first team ... The senior from New Bern, North Carolina, will now advance onto the national ballot, for voting later this month ... Beyer, a former walk-on who has earned a scholarship, will graduate in may with a degree in human nutrition, food & exercise and is in the process of interviewing and being accepted into medical school.

Hokies Support Autism Cause

During today’s game, head coach Buzz Williams and the Virginia Tech staff will be wearing blue Autism Speaks puzzle piece pins ... Autism Speaks is excited to announce the creation of a new program, “Coaches Powering Forward for Autism,” to increase awareness for autism and Autism Speaks, the world’s largest autism science and advocacy organization, throughout the February 6-8, 2015 basketball game weekend.
