Virginia Tech travels to Winston-Salem on Saturday afternoon to take on the Wake Forest demon Deacons. Tip time is 2 p.m. and the game will be shown on regional sports networks.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies enter today’s game 9-11 overall and 1-6 in ACC action … Wake Forest is 9-12 overall and 1-7 in conference play … This is the only meeting between the two schools this season.

The Hokies earned their first ACC win of the Buzz Williams Era on Tuesday night, as they downed Pitt, 70-67, in overtime in Cassell Coliseum ... Adam Smith, who sent the game into overtime with a three-pointer with 0.7 seconds remaining in regulation, sealed the win for Tech with a deep three with 3.4 seconds remaining in the extra session ... Smith tied a season-high with 26 points and Malik Müller scored a career-high 22 points in the win ... Ahmed Hill added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Hokies.

Series Against the Demon Deacons

This will be the 59th meeting between the two schools, in a series that began in 1912 ... The all-time series is tied, 29-29 … Tech has lost the last two meetings in the series, most recently an 83-77 loss in Cassell Coliseum last season … Tech is 7-16 against Wake Forest in road games and 3-4 against the Demon Deacons in the Lawrence Joel Coliseum ... Tech is 8-5 in conference games against WFU.

Bibbs Update

Virginia Tech freshman guard Justin Bibbs has missed the last four games due to a concussion suffered in practice prior to the UNC game … He is being re-evaluated daily and his status for today’s game is undetermined.
