About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies enter tonight’s game 8-11 overall and 0-6 in ACC action … Pittsburgh is 13-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play … This is the only meeting between the two schools this season ... Tonight is the annual “Blackout” game, as all fans are encouraged to wear black to the game.

Last Time Out: 2/2 UVA 50, VT 47

The Hokies dropped a heartbreaker to arch-rival Virginia, 50-47, in Cassell Coliseum on Sunday afternoon ... The Hokies led by 10 points midway through the second half, but could not hold off the Cavaliers ... Adam Smith led all scorers with 15 points ... Tech outshot the Cavaliers, 45.2 percent to 34.7 percent and forced UVA into 13 turnovers, four over their average.

Series Against the Panthers

This will be the 10th meeting between the two schools, in a series that began in 1964 ... The Hokies are 3-6 all-time against the Panthers … Tech has lost the last five meetings in the series, most recently a 62-57 double-overtime loss in Pittsburgh last season … Tech is 2-1 against Pitt in home games and 0-4 in conference games, in both Big East and ACC games.
