Hokies host No. 2/2 Virginia in Commonwealth Clash
Tech and UVa meet in Cassell Coliseum on Sunday

Virginia Tech welcomes arch-rival No. 2/2 Virginia to Cassell Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. The game, televised by The ACC Network, will tip off at 1 p.m. The Commonwealth Clash contest will also see the Hokies' coaches and staff participate in the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits And Sneakers™ Awareness Week.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies enter today’s game 8-10 overall and 0-5 in ACC action … Virginia is 18-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play … Virginia is ranked second in the AP poll and second in the coaches poll ... This is the first of two meetings between the two schools this season.

Last Time Out: 8/9 UND 85, VT 60

The Hokies fell to No. 8/9 Notre Dame, 85-60, in Cassell Coliseum on Thursday night ... Ahmed Hill led the Hokies with 13 points, Jalen Hudson added 12 points and Devin Wilson had 11 points for Tech ... The Hokies played the game without leading scorer Justin Bibbs, who missed his second consecutive game after suffering a concussion during practice last week.

Series Against the Cavaliers

This will be the 140th meeting between the two schools, in a series that began in 1915 and the two schools have met at least once every year since 1961... The Hokies are 53-86 all-time against the Cavaliers … Tech has lost the last five meetings in the series, including both games last season … Tech is 27-20 against Virginia in home games and 14-6 in games played in Cassell Coliseum in the series.
