Virginia Tech travels to Louisville on Tuesday night to face the No. 6/7 Cardinals in the first ACC meeting between the two schools. The game, shown on regional sports networks, will tip-off at 7 p.m. in the KFC Yum Center.

About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies enter tonight’s game 8-7 overall and 0-2 in ACC action following an 86-75 loss at Florida State last Tuesday night … Louisville is 14-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play, following a 72-71 loss at No. 18 North Carolina on Saturday afternoon … Louisville is ranked sixth in the AP poll and seventh in the coaches poll.

Last Time Out: FSU 86, VT 75

The Hokies lost at Florida State, 86-75, last Tuesday night … Justin Bibbs scored a career-high 25 points and Adam Smith added 24 points in the loss for the Hokies ... Tech committed a season-low six turnovers and made 11 three-pointers, but were out rebounded, 42-22 … Devin Wilson dished out seven assists, while committing no turnovers in 35 minutes of action.

Series Against The Cardinals

This will be the 37th meeting between the two schools, in a series that began in 1978 ... The Hokies are 8-28 all-time against the Cardinals … Tech has lost the last nine meetings in the series, although the most recent meeting was in 1995 … Tech is 3-14 against Louisville in road games and 6-26 in conference games, all coming while both teams were members of the Metro Conference … This is the only meeting between the two schools this season … Tonight marks the first meeting between the two schools since the dissolution on the Metro Conference in 1995.
