BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech athletics department has announced game times for the nine non-conference home men’s basketball games for the 2014-15 regular season. Tech has also announced broadcast information for those games, as well.
All non-conference home games will be broadcast live via ESPN3. With these nine games set, all of Virginia Tech’s 32 regular season games will be available either on broadcast and cable television or live streaming. Many games will be available in both formats.
The Hokies will open the 2014-15 schedule on Friday, Nov. 14 against Maryland-Eastern Shore at 7 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum. The game will be the first of three consecutive home games. Liberty will come to Cassell Coliseum on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., as part of the Cancun Challenge event, followed by a visit from Appalachian State on Nov. 22. The Appalachian State game will tip-off at 1 p.m.
After the Hokies return from the Cancun Challenge, the final game of that event will be on Nov. 30, as Morgan State comes to Cassell Coliseum for a 3 p.m. tip. Following a trip to Penn State on Dec. 3 for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Tech returns to Cassell Coliseum to begin a five-game homestand, which includes a continuation of the New River Valley rivalry with Radford, on Dec. 7 at 3 p.m., and games against Alabama A&M (3 p.m.), The Citadel (1 p.m.), long-time rival VMI (7 p.m.) and Presbyterian (7 p.m.), all in the month of December. Tech wraps up the non-conference slate with a trip to Morgantown to face West Virginia on Dec. 30, in a game televised by ESPNU at 2 p.m.
In addition to the non-conference home games, the Hokies’ game vs. Virginia on Sunday, Jan. 25 in Cassell Coliseum, originally set for 4 p.m., has been moved to 1 p.m. This time change had been previously announced. Also, game times have been set for the Hokies’ games in Cancun, as part of the Cancun Challenge. Tech’s game on Nov. 25 will be played at 7 p.m. ET and televised by the CBS Sports Network. The Hokies’ game on Nov. 26 will be played at either 7 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. ET and will also be televised by the CBS Sports Network.
All conference games carried on an ESPN network will also be available on WatchESPN. All conference games carried on the ACC Network or a regional sports network will also be available on ESPN3.
