Hokies' ACC opponents for 2014-15 announced
Tech home games include Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the ACC opponents and game sites for the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team for the 2014-15 season on Tuesday morning.

The Hokies will play an 18-game regular season schedule and will face each of the possible 14 ACC opponents at least once. Tech will play four of those schools both home and away. Virginia and Miami are full-time partners with the Hokies and Tech will also play home and home with Syracuse and Florida State in the 2014-15 season.

Virginia Tech will play nine home games and nine away contests during ACC regular season competition. Home opponents in Cassell Coliseum will include Miami, Virginia, Florida State, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Duke, Pittsburgh, Boston College and Notre Dame.

The road opponents for the Hokies in the 2014-15 season are Miami, Virginia, Florida State, Syracuse, Clemson, North Carolina, Wake Forest, NC State and conference newcomer Louisville.

The 2014-15 season will be the first year of a 12-year schedule rotation during which teams that are not partners play five years at home only; five years on the road only; and two years both home and road. The past two conference schedules were “one-offs” due to an increase from 16 to 18 conference games and conference expansion, respectively. The ACC also released home-and-road opponents for the 2015-16 season. Those games are listed at the end of this release.

Virginia Tech will compete in the 2014 ACC/Big Ten Challenge this December and will play a road game. Match-ups will be announced next month. The entire Virginia Tech 2014-15 men’s basketball schedule will be released at a later date.
