The Hokies dropped a heart-breaker to Virginia, 57-53, in Cassell Coliseum on Tuesday night.
Devin Wilson and Joey van Zegeren led the Hokies with 13 points each.
Tech led throughout much of the game and outshot and outrebounded the Cavaliers in the loss.
Setting a New Standard
Devin Wilson set a new Virginia Tech freshman record in Tuesday’s loss to Virginia. He now has 114 assists this season, the most ever for a Tech freshman, breaking the old mark of 113, set by Hank Thorns in the 2007-08 season.
Playing Good D
The Hokies held Miami to 25.9 percent from the field in last Saturday’s win. That is the lowest opponent’s field goal percentage for the Hokies in ACC play since joining the league in the 2004-05 season.
