Virginia Tech at Florida State Game Notes

Virginia Tech begins a two-game road trip with a visit to Tallahassee on Wednesday night to face the Seminoles. The game, to be broadcast live by regional sports networks, will tip at 9 p.m.

About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies are 8-13 on the season and 1-8 in ACC action.

The Seminoles are 13-8 overall and 4-5 in the ACC after a 53-49 home loss to Clemson on Saturday afternoon.

The Noles lead the all-time series, 27-20.

Maryland 80, Virginia Tech 60

The Hokies lost to Maryland, 80-60, in Cassell Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

Ben Emelogu was the only Hokie in double figures, scoring 21 points.

Welcome Whit Babcock

On Friday, Jan. 24, Whit Babcock was hired as the new Director of Athletics at Virginia Tech.

Babcock is a 1992 graduate of James Madison University and a native Virginian.

He will begin his duties at Virginia Tech on Feb. 17

Scoring 1,000

Jarell Eddie currently has 1,070 points at Virginia Tech and is 39th in career scoring for the Hokies.

Injury Update

Adam Smith (left calf strain) is out for at least this week and C.J. Barksdale (strained groin) is questionable for tonight’s game.

ACC Legend

Bobby Stevens has been named Virginia Tech’s “ACC Legend” for 2014.

Up Next

The Hokies continue the road trip on Saturday, as they travel to Pittsburgh to face the Panthers in the Peterson Events Center. The game, televised by regional sports networks, will tip-off at noon.
