Virginia Tech hosts the University of Maryland in Cassell Coliseum on Saturday. The game, scheduled for a noon tip-off, will be shown live on The ACC Network. This will be the Terrapins' final visit to Blacksburg as members of the ACC.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies are 8-12 on the season and 1-7 in ACC action.

The Terrapins are 12-9 overall and 4-4 in the ACC after a 74-71 home win over Miami on Wednesday night.

The Terps lead the all-time series, 30-10.

Boston College 76, Virginia Tech 52

The Hokies lost to Boston College, 76-52, in Conte Forum on Wednesday night.

Jarell Eddie was the only Hokie in double figures, recording his fourth double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Welcome Whit Babcock

On Friday, Jan. 24, Whit Babcock was hired as the new Director of Athletics at Virginia Tech.

Currently the Director of Athletics at the University of Cincinnati, Babcock is a 1992 graduate of James Madison University and a native Virginian.

Jarell Eddie currently has 1,068 points at Virginia Tech and is 39th in career scoring for the Hokies.

Injury Update

Adam Smith (left calf strain) is out for at least the next week and C.J. Barksdale (strained groin) is questionable for today’s game.

Bobby Stevens has been named Virginia Tech’s “ACC Legend” for 2014.

James Johnson is one of nearly 100 men’s basketball coaches throughout the country that will be wearing the “Autism Speaks” pin on his suit jacket today.
