Virginia Tech travels to Chestnut Hill, Mass., to take on the Eagles of Boston College on Wednesday night in Conte Forum. The game, which tips off at 7 p.m., will be shown live on regional sports networks.
About Tonight’s Game
The Hokies are 8-11 on the season and 1-6 in ACC action.
The Eagles are 5-14 overall and 1-5 in the ACC after a 68-60 home loss to Georgia Tech last Tuesday.
The Eagles lead the all-time series, 16-8 and defeated the Hokies, 62-59, in Cassell Coliseum earlier this month.
Virginia 65, Virginia Tech 45
The Hokies lost to arch-rival Virginia, 65-45, in JPJA on Saturday afternoon.
Devin Wilson was the only Hokie in double figures, with 12 points.
Welcome Whit Babcock
On Friday, Jan. 24, Whit Babcock was hired as the new Director of Athletics at Virginia Tech.
Currently the Director of Athletics at the University of Cincinnati, Babcock is a 1992 graduate of James Madison University and a native Virginian.
Scoring 1,000
With his first three-pointer in the loss to #2/2 Syracuse, Jarell Eddie became the 44th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.
Eddie currently has 1,045 points at Virginia Tech and is 42nd in career scoring for the Hokies.
Injury Update
Adam Smith (left calf strain) is out for the next two weeks and C.J. Barksdale (strained groin) is questionable for tonight’s game.
Getting There
Devin Wilson leads all ACC freshmen with 5.9 free throw attempts per game. That number is sixth overall in the league.
