Virginia Tech at Virginia Game Notes

Virginia Tech travels to Charlottesville to renew the Commonwealth rivalry with the University of Virginia on Saturday afternoon in John Paul Jones Arena. The game, which will tip-off at 3 p.m., will be televised locally on The ACC Network.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies are 8-10 on the season and 1-5 in ACC action.

The Cavaliers are 14-5 overall and 5-1 in the ACC after a 76-61 home win over UNC on Monday.

The Cavaliers lead the all-time series, 84-53.

Wake Forest 83, Virginia Tech 77

The Hokies fell to Wake Forest, 83-77, in Cassell Coliseum on Monday night.

Devin Wilson scored a career-high 26 points and Jarell Eddie added 20 points in the game.

Trevor Thompson recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.

Scoring 1,000

With his first three-pointer in the loss to #2/2 Syracuse, Jarell Eddie became the 44th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.

Eddie currently has 1,038 points at Virginia Tech and is 42nd in career scoring for the Hokies.

Injury Update

Adam Smith (left calf strain) is out for the next two weeks and Ben Emelogu (right ankle sprain) is questionable for today’s game.

Stepping It Up

Devin Wilson has made seven of his 10 three-point field goals and 21 of 38 field goals in Calendar 2014.

The Virginia Tech men’s basketball staff is wearing sneakers as part of the annual Suits and Sneakers campaign, a joint effort of the American Cancer Society and the NABC that empowers basketball coaches to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
