Scoring 1,000
With his first three-pointer in the loss to #2/2 Syracuse, Jarell Eddie became the 44th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.
Eddie currently has 1,016 points at Virginia Tech and is 43rd in career scoring for the Hokies.
Game No. 2,500
The Clemson game was the 2,500th game in Virginia Tech men’s basketball history.
The First VT-ND Meeting
In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the Hokies defeated Notre Dame, 92-91, in overtime to win the 1973 NIT Championship in Madison Square Garden. The Fighting Irish were coached that season by tonight’s honoree, Richard “Digger” Phelps.
