BLACKSBURG, Va. – Sophomore guard Robert Brown of the Virginia Tech men’s basketball teams has decided to transfer, following the spring semester, head coach James Johnson announced today.
“Robert Brown was a great contributor to this team on and off the court,” said Johnson. “We are sad to see him go, but support his decision to look for other opportunities. We wish him the best of luck and will always be behind him.”
Brown started 25 games for the Hokies this season, missing just one game due to illness. After earning the starting job entering his sophomore season, the Clermont, Fla., native averaged 8.3 points per game and 2.1 assists per game this year. Brown’s biggest performances of the season came when he neared his career high in back-to-back games, scoring 18 point against Iowa and posting a repeat performance days later against then-No. 15 Oklahoma State.
