BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech Hokies will entertain the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum. The game will be televised by The ACC Network.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies are 10-6 on the season and 1-2 in ACC play after defeating Georgia Tech, 70-65, in overtime last Saturday in McCamish Pavilion.

Wake Forest is 9-7 overall and 2-2 in ACC action after a 60-44 loss at Clemson on Tuesday night.

Virginia Tech 70, Georgia Tech 65, OT

Erick Green scored 28 points to lead the Hokies to their first ACC win of the season. Robert Brown, who missed the Boston College game with a high fever., scored 10 points off the bench. C.J. Barksdale recorded his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Wood Out

Virginia Tech freshman forward Marshall Wood is out indefinitely after fracturing the third metatarsal in his left foot in the loss to Georgia Southern.

Green Notes

Erick Green leads the ACC and the nation in scoring.

Green has scored 20-or-more points in 15 games this season.

Honors for Green

Erick Green has been named a watch list finalist for the Bob Cousey Award, given annually to the top point guard in the nation. Green has also been named to the John R. Wooden Award’s Midseason Top 25. Wooden Award given to nation’s best player.

Odds & Ends

Erick Green leads the ACC in scoring and Jarell Eddie leads the ACC in free-throw percentage. Green is seond in the league in minutes played and third in the league in free-throw percentage. The Hokies lead the ACC in free-throw percentage as a team.

Christian Beyer has grabbed 46 of his 48 rebounds in his last seven appearances.

The Hokies’ two largest comeback victories this season have come in their two overtime games, both victories. Tech was down 13 points against Bradley and 11 points at Georgia Tech.
