Hokies return to Cassell Coliseum to face Delta Devils

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Virginia Tech returns to Cassell Coliseum to host the first of two games in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic. The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils will be the first opponent in the event.

About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies are 7-1 on the season after losing at West Virginia, 68-67, on Saturday.

MVSU is 0-5 on the season after losing, 67-39, at Virginia on Saturday.

This is the first-ever meeting between the two school.

Erick Green recorded his first career double-double with 23 points and 10 assists in the loss.

Robert Brown scored a career-high 21 points in the loss.

This was the Hokies’ first loss of the season.

The New Boss

This season marks the head coaching debut of James Johnson.

Green is Honored

Erick Green has been named the ACC Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 25. This is the second consecutive week he has earned the award.

He was also named National Player of the Week by both SI.com and NBCSports.com.

The Hokies are sixth nationally in scoring offense and 8th in free throw percentage.

Player Notes

Erick Green leads the ACC in scoring and Jarell Eddie is third in the league in scoring.

Will Johnston has made 10 career field goals. All 10 are three-pointers. He hit three of them in the win over VMI, setting a new career-high of nine points and matched that number in the win at UNC Greensboro.

Erick Green is second nationally in scoring, Will Johnston is fifth in 3pt. FG percentage and Jarell Eddie is tied for 24th in free throw percentage.
