BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech Hokies will open a three-game home stand on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., as they host Appalachian State. This will be the first game of a weekend that will also feature home events in volleyball, wrestling and women's basketball as well as the Virginia Tech-Virginia football game in Lane Stadium.
About Today’s Game
The Hokies are 4-0 on the season after defeating UNC Greensboro, 96-87, on Monday night.
Appalachian State is 1-2 on the season after losing at East Carolina, 82-72, on Tuesday night.
Virginia Tech leads the all-time series, 6-1.

Jarell Eddie ( 28 points) and Erick Green (26 points) each set career highs in the Hokies’ 96-87 win at UNCG.
Marshall Wood grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and Robert Brown scored 10 points in the win.
The New Boss
This season marks the head coaching debut of James Johnson.
Johnson earned his first head coaching victory with an 80-62 win over ETSU on Saturday.
A Milestone
Erick Green scored 23 points in the win over VMI and in doing so, became the 43rd person in school history to record 1,000 career points. He now has 1,036 career points.
Team Notes
The Hokies are off to the team’s best start since the 2004-05 season.
Virginia Tech was 34-of-42 from the free throw line in the win at UNC Greensboro.
Four games into the season and only one Hokie has commited double figures in turnovers.
Player Notes
Erick Green leads the ACC in scoring.
Cadarian Raines recorded his second consecutive double-double in the win over VMI.
Will Johnston has made nine career field goals. All nine are three-pointers. He hit three of them in the win over VMI, setting a new career-high of nine points and matched that number in the win at UNC Greensboro on Monday night.
Jarell Eddie and Erick Green combined for 25 of the Hokies’ final 26 points in the win at UNC Greensboro.
