Hokies travel to play UNCG in the Greensboro Coliseum
Tech looks to improve upon 3-0 start

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech men's basketball team will make its first road trip of the season, as the Hokies travel to Greensboro, N.C. to face UNC Greensboro in the Greensboro Coliseum. The 2013 ACC Tournament will be held in the Coliseum this coming March.

About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies are 3-0 on the season after defeating VMI, 95-80, on Thursday night.

UNC Greensboro is 1-2 on the season after losing at East Carolina, 76-73, on Friday.

Virginia Tech leads the all-time series, 7-0.

Erick Green led five Hokies in double-figures, as Tech defeated VMI, 95-80, on Thursday night.

Cadarian Raines recorded his second-straight double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Jarell Eddie scored 17 points for the Hokies.

The New Boss

This season marks the head coaching debut of James Johnson.

Johnson earned his first head coaching victory with an 80-62 win over ETSU on Saturday.

A Milestone

Erick Green scored 23 points in the win over VMI and in doing so, became the 43rd person in school history to record 1,000 career points.

No Time for Rest

This is the Hokies’ fourth game in the first nine days of the season.

Low Percentage

Virginia Tech has limited its opponents to just 12-of-74 from three-point range (16.2 percent).

Player Notes

Erick Green is second in the ACC in scoring.

Marquis Rankin missed the win over ETSU due to family concerns. He returned to the team on Monday, but did not play against Rhode Island. He played against VMI.

Cadarian Raines recorded his second consecutive double-double in the win over VMI.

Will Johnston has made six career field goals. All six are three-pointers. He hit three of them in the win over VMI, setting a new career-high of nine points.

C.J. Barksdale scored 11 points in the VMI, establishing a new career high.
