NEW YORK, N.Y. – Virginia Tech guard Malcolm Delaney has been named an honorable mention to the 2011 AP All-America team, as selected by the Associated Press. This marks the second consecutitve season that Delaney was selected to the AP team.
Delaney, a senior from Baltimore, Md., was second in the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring in 2011 and was selected to the 2011 All-ACC first team. Earlier this month, he was selected to the all-district teams by the NABC and the USBWA.
He led the Hokies in scoring and assists this season, as Virginia Tech finished the season with a 22-12 overall record. Tech finished tied for fourth in the ACC and advanced to the second round of the NIT. He is one of six ACC players named to the teams this season.
