DURHAM, N.C. - The third-seeded Virginia Tech lacrosse team is set to take on the sixth-seeded Duke Blue Devils Thursday night in the ACC Tournament’s First Round. First draw is slated for Thursday at 8 p.m. from Koskinen Stadium with coverage available through ACC Network Extra.

Last time out, the Hokies defeated in-state rival Virginia 16-12 in Lane Stadium on Senior Day. Nine different Hokies got on the board in the victory with Paige Petty leading the way with four goals. Petty has a team high 52 points on the season.

Meagh Graham was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week after recording 10 saves and coming up with five ground balls in the success over Virginia.

The Hokies secured the three seed in the ACC Tournament making it the highest seed Tech has ever earned heading into the conference tournament. Tech remains ranked 12th nationally in the Inside Lacrosse Poll.

The ACC’s All-Conference teams were announced Wednesday, with four Hokies; Tristan McGinley, Petty, Kelly Glatthorn and Meagh Graham earning First Team honors.

The Blue Devils (7-8) fell to rival North Carolina 20-10 on Saturday, April 21. Duke has dropped five out of its last six games entering Thursday’s contest.

Duke freshman Charlotte North is the team leader in points with 53 on the year.

Tech beat the Blue Devils 17-14 in Blacksburg in the regular season meeting. McGinley scored five times and Petty found the net scoring four goals, while Graham made 10 saves in goal to secure the victory.

North had three goals and two assists for Duke in that game.
