Graham named ACC's Defensive Player of the Week
Redshirt senior made 10 saves on Senior Day in Lane Stadium Saturday

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College junior attacker Sam Apuzzo and North Carolina freshman attacker Jamie Ortega share this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Virginia Tech redshirt senior goalie Meagh Graham is the ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Against Virginia on Saturday, Graham came up with 10 saves and four ground balls while causing a turnover as the Hokies won 16-12 to clinch the 3 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament.
Graham has been in the cage for all 12 of the Hokies’ wins in 2018, owning a 10.73 goal against average the fourth best in the league. She has 120 saves on the season as well as 39 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers.
Tech’s 12 wins in 2018 are a single season program record, as is the five ACC wins.
The Hokies will travel to Durham, North Carolina, the site of the ACC Tournament on Wednesday ahead of their First Round game versus Duke University on Thursday, April 26 at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the Tournament games are $8 and can be purchased here. All tickets are general admission and fans 18 and under are admitted for free.
