BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech lacrosse team (5-3, 1-0) returns home to the Indoor Practice Facility for a 1 p.m. matchup with seventeenth ranked Notre Dame Sunday afternoon. The game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
Last time out the Hokies grabbed an 11-5 victory over No. 16 Denver on the road on Wednesday, March 7. Emma Harden and Tristan McGinley each scored three goals as the Hokies took down the Pioneers.
McGinley’s third goal of the afternoon was the 100th of her career, placing her 11th all-time in Virginia Tech history.

Meagh Graham came up with five saves in goal for the Hokies against Denver, but her impact extended beyond just blocking shots, as she caused two turnovers and grabbed four ground balls.
Notre Dame enters 5-2 (1-1) after defeating conference foe Louisville 14-9 on Sunday, March 4. The Irish are led by attackers Nikki Ortega (23 points) and Maddie Howe (21 points).
The Irish’s head coach Christine Halfpenny played on the Hokies’ 1999 Atlantic 10 championship team and spent a season as an assistant coach at her alma mater.
Tech is 0-8 all-time against Notre Dame.
NEXT UP: Tech will remain at home, this time playing at Thompson Field on Sunday, March 18 versus the Delaware Blue Hens. First draw is set for 12 p.m.
