Tech continues its grueling non-conference slate, facing its fourth ranked opponent of the season Wednesday afternoon, matching up with the sixteenth ranked Denver Pioneers from Peter Barton Lacrosse Field in Denver, Colorado.

The Hokies fell 18-3 last time out on Sunday afternoon at Colorado University. The Buffs shot out to a 9-0 lead in the first half and was able to stifle the attack holding Tech to a season low 15 shots.

Tristan McGinley scored Tech’s first two goals, and freshman Paige Petty added the other late in the second half, her 12th of the season.

The Pioneers enter 3-1 on the season featuring wins over then No. 23 Stanford and Louisville from the ACC. In their last game on Feb. 25, Denver fell 16-3 to Stony Brook.

Denver’s offense is led by freshman attacker Eliza Radochonski’s 11 points (seven goals, four assists) and junior Julia Feiss’ 10 (nine goals and one assist).

NEXT UP: Tech returns home to the Indoor Practice Facility for a matchup with ACC foe and nationally ranked Notre Dame. First draw is set for 1 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network Extra.
