Hokies hit the road for clash at Syracuse
Tech plays the first of three consecutive road games to conclude regular season

BLACKSBURG- The No. 15 Virginia Tech lacrosse team travels to No. 11 Syracuse on Sunday for an ACC matchup. First draw is set for 1 p.m. from SU Soccer Stadium.
The Hokies (11-4, 2-2)
Tech was edged in overtime by Louisville in its last game on Saturday 13-12. Kristine Loscalzo and Emma Harden each scored four times for the Hokies who dropped their second consecutive match in the league. Meagh Graham continued her excellent season by making 10 saves in goal.
The Hokies are still chasing the program record for wins in a season. The next win would be its 12th, breaking the tie with the 1999 team for most in a single season at Virginia Tech.
Tech has a 5-0 record in road contests in 2017.
The Orange (10-4, 3-1)
Last time out, the Orange defeated Loyola 16-11 on the road Wednesday afternoon. A trio of Orange scored three goals; Riley Donahue, Alie Jimerson and Emily Hawryschuk. It was Syracuse’s second consecutive victory, following a 10-9 triumph at ACC foe Duke.
On the season, Syracuse is averaging 13.07 goals per game behind the play of attackers Donahue and Nicole Levy. Donahue leads the team with 42 points which include 27 goals and Levy has contributed 36 points on the season.
Syracuse owns a 6-1 record in home contests this season.
The Series
Syracuse owns a 7-0 advantage in the all-time series against the Hokies. Last season in the team’s only meeting, Loscalzo and Tristan McGinley each contributed one goal as the Hokies fell 19-5 in Blacksburg.
The Hokies and Orange have played two common opponents in 2017; Duke and Boston College. Tech and Syracuse each won their contests against those teams.
Next up: The Hokies’ next game is Saturday, April 15 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. First draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Notre Dame, Ind.
