Hokies to face top-seeded North Carolina in ACC Tournament
Tech and Tar Heels meet for the fourth time in the postseason

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Tech lacrosse team has drawn the North Carolina Tar Heels in the opening round of the ACC Tournament. The Hokies and Tar Heels will go head to head in the first game of this year’s tournament, hosted by the University of Virginia, set for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23.

Tech will make its second trip in less than a week to Charlottesville, after wrapping up its regular season conference slate with a 17-10 loss at No. 5 Virginia on Friday. Megan Will scored five goals in the game and added an assist to get her within three points of the all-time Tech record. North Carolina clinched the ACC regular season title with a 12-6 win at Duke Friday night.

This marks the 21st all-time meeting between the two schools and the fourth meeting between the two teams in the ACC Tournament. North Carolina claimed the regular season meeting, 14-5, in Blacksburg earlier this year, as well as the last post season meeting, 18-7, in the 2007 ACC Tournament in Chapel Hill.
