Megan Will scored Tech’s first two goals of the game and helped spark a 6-0 run that allowed the Hokies to take a 7-6 lead into the break.
Back-and-forth play dominated the second half, but Michigan was able to regain the lead late. Will created a look acorss the middle for herself with 26 seconds remaining to force overtime.
It seemed Michigan would take the early edge in the first session of overtime, but the goal was called back due to a crease violation.
The second session was Meg Bartley’s time to shine. She won the opening draw to claim sole possession of Tech’s all-time career record, and was in the right spot to fire home the game-winner. Tech lost the ball but got it back and Cawley Bromley found Bartley in front of the goal for the score with .2 seconds on the clock.
