CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Junior Megan Will was named to the 2014 University Division Women’s Lacrosse Second Team Monday morning, as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). This is the first of such honors for the third-year player.
Virginia’s Courtney Swan was named the All-State Player of the Year, while her coach Julie Myers was named the All-State Coach of the Year, and Betsy Angel from James Madison earned VaSID Rookie of the Year honors.
Will led the Hokies in every offensive category this season, and worked her way up Tech’s all-time scoring and points lists. The Bel Air, Maryland, native finished the season with 48 goals, 17 assists and 65 points, while her 120 career goals and 156 career points are good for fourth and sixth, respectively, in the all-time record book. She scored in 15 of the team’s 17 games and ended the year with four straight hat tricks, all against four top-15 opponents. Will scored the 100th goal of her career in the win at Old Dominion, and put away four or more goals six times during the 2014 season. She was also named to the All-ACC Third Team earlier this post season.
