GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Tech lacrosse team will match up with the Boston College Eagles in the first round of the ACC Tournament, which will be played this year in Chapel Hill, N.C. Tech’s first-round game will be the second of two games played on Thursday, April 25 and is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.
Boston College finished the season as the No. 3 team in the conference, while the Hokies enter the tournament as a six seed. Maryland earned the top spot in the league after finishing the regular season undefeated. Host, North Carolina, earned a two-seed in the tournament, and both of the top two teams have received a bye for the first round and will await the winners of the quarterfinal games. Four-seed Duke will face No. 5 Virginia in the first game of the tournament.
Tech fell to the Eagles earlier this season, 15-7, in Blacksburg. The two teams have met just one in the post season, through 13 all-time meetings. The only post-season match up took place in the 2011 ACC Tournament in Cary, N.C.
