Scouting Longwood

Longwood enters the midweek game sitting at 8-5 on the year, 3-2 in the Big South. Most recently, the Lancers claimed a 21-8 win over Coastal Carolina last Friday. Lauren Prasnicki leads the team in points and assists with 55 and 34, respectively. Jamie Brentlinger has led the attack this year and has scored 34 goals on the season.

Kathleen Battle has spearheaded the defensive unit this season scopping up 30 ground balls and causing 20 turnovers. In cage for the Lancers has been Christian Acker, who boasts a 6-5 record and a .410 save percentage.

Notes: The Hokies and Hornets have never met as Delaware State is in its first year as a varsity program ... Like Tech, the Hornets have faced Liberty and Mt. St. Mary’s this season.

Scouting Delaware State

The Hornets enter the weekend at 0-10 on the year, coming off of a 14-2 loss at home to Colgate on Sunday. Leading the offensive charge has been Emily Peets with eight goals this year, while also pacing the squad winning 19 draws. Kirkland Lewis leads the team with 22 ground balls while she has also caused eight turnovers.

Splitting time in cage this season has been Lewis as well as Rhian Sellers, both hold an 0-5 record.

Up Next

The Hokies will wrap up the regular season next week, as well as conference play. Tech will head to in-state rival Virginia on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game. The Hokies will return home for Senior Day, honoring the team’s 12 seniors before facing No. 1 Maryland.
