Scouting Boston College
The Eagles enter the weekend game with a 2-3 overall record and this will be the team’s first conference game of the season. Boston College is currently riding a three-game skid falling at No. 13 Ohio State as well as to UConn and most recently at No. 4 Northwestern, 17-10 on Wednesday.
Covie Stanwick leads the Eagles with 18 goals and is tied for first with six assists, for a total of 24 points on the year. Mikaela Rix has scored 12 goals this season, also winning 13 draws and picking up 13 ground balls.
Emily Mata has been in cage for the Eagles and boasts the team’s 2-3 record. She has a .291 save percentage, having made 25 saves this season.

Last Time Out
The Hokies went 1-1 last week as they opened play at home in 2013. In a midweek contest, Tech fell to James Madison, 9-8. The Hokies came from behind to tie things up at 6-6 at the half with three straight goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half.
Brooke Martin’s only goal of the game came at the 12:13 mark in the second half and it tied the game again, this time at 8 all. Play went back-and-forth as the minutes ticked off the clock, but the Dukes’ Steph Finley finally broke the drought and put JMU up 9-8 with a goal with 1:33 remaining in the game. The Hokies won the ensuing draw but were unable to get anything in the back of the goal. Senior Libby Rosebro set a new career mark with 5 points in the game, by way of two goals and three assists.
Rounding out the week of play the Hokies bounced back and returned to their winning ways as they knocked off Mount St. Mary’s, 13-4. For the second time this season, Tech got all 31 players on the roster onto the field.
The Hokies locked the game up in the first half, holding a 10-1 advantage heading into the break. Though production slowed in the second half, the Mount was never able to come close. Senior Julia Heaps and sophomore Megan Will led the team with three goals a piece, also each adding an assist.

Record Watch
Senior Alex Gale is the only current player on Tech’s roster to rank amongst the all-time best in career stats, as she sits in fifth place at Tech with 322 career saves.
Sophomore Meg Bartley and senior Julia Heaps are both on the brim of cracking into the top-10 at Tech as Bartley has won 70 draw controls to date and Heaps has 23 career assists. Bartley needs to win 13 draws, while Heaps needs 12 assists.
