BLACKSBURG, Va. – After the Virginia Tech lacrosse team was named an Academic Squad earlier this week, four Hokies were named to the Academic Honor Roll. Seniors Ryan Rotanz and Julie Wolfinger were honored, along with juniors Libby Rosebro and Charlotte Marsh for their work both on the field and in the classroom this season.

The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association named 173 student-athletes from 56 different institutions to this year’s Division I Academic Honor Roll. All players had to be at least a junior academically to be recognized.

Rotanz, a human development major who recently wrapped up her second season as a full-time starter, was recently named to the All-ACC Academic team for the second consecutive year. She put away 22 goals and assisted 10 more in her final season as a Hokie.

Wolfinger was named to the All-ACC Academic team as a junior and recently graduated with a degree in marketing. A starter throughout her four seasons at Tech, Wolfinger moved from the midfield to defense in her final two seasons and tallied 35 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers during that time.

Marsh and Rosebro both finished their junior seasons this year and were recently honored for the first time by the ACC for their academic performance this year. Marsh, who is studying biology, finished her first year as a full-time starter with 16 ground balls and five caused turnovers. Rosebro, an art major, tallied 21 points, 17 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers after transitioning back to midfield this year.

In addition to Tech’s four honorees, the ACC saw eight more student-athletes make the list. Duke also had four players recognized, while Maryland and Boston College were each represented by two players.
