BLACKSBURG, Va. - Senior midfielder Jessica Nonn was named to the IWLCA All-South Region team over Memorial Day weekend, prior to the NCAA National Championship Game. Nonn was one of 128 Division I student-athletes honored by the coaches’ association.
The honor is the first of Nonn’s career and makes her just the fourth Hokie to earn the accolade.
Nonn recently wrapped up her collegiate career ranking second all-time at Tech in goals (139), caused turnovers (103) and ground balls, while also sitting in third place in points (168) and draw controls (161). Already earning All-ACC honors this post season, Nonn led the Hokies in nearly every statistical category through the season and finished the year with 32 goals, 43 points and 52 draws.
Highlighting her senior season was Nonn’s late heroics against then-No. 7 Virginia. The Catonsville, Md., native scored Tech’s final three goals of the game, including the overtime game-winner to earn the Hokies their first ever win over a top-ten team.
