DURHAM, N.C. – Freshman attacker Megan Will was recently named to the ACC All-Tournament team for her outstanding performance in the Hokies’ first-round game against Maryland over the weekend. The media and team-affiliated Sports Information Directors decided the 12-member team. Maryland’s Katie Schwarzmann was named the Tournament MVP.
Will, who ranks second on the team in scoring with 27 goals, buried three goals in the quarterfinal loss to eventual tournament champion, Maryland. The Bel Air, Md., native put away one goal on the first half, before scoring two of Tech’s three second-half goals.
The honor is the first conference accolade of the newcomer’s career, as she becomes just the second Hokie to ever be named to the ACC All-Tournament team. She is the only freshman on this year’s squad and one of just two honorees that is not a junior or senior.
