GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior midfield Jessica Nonn was named to the 2012 All-ACC team, as announced by the conference Thursday morning. This is the first time in her career that Nonn has been named to the 18-player roster, as she becomes the fourth Hokie to ever earn the honor.
North Carolina, which completed the ACC regular season undefeated (5-0), led all schools with five all-conference performers, while Boston College’s Kristin Igoe and Maryland’s Karri Ellen Johnson earned the acclaim for the fourth time in their careers, making ACC history.
Nonn has led the Hokies in every statistical category for the majority of the season, including scoring (29), points (39) and draws (45). The Catonsville, Md., native also ranks in the top five all-time at Tech in five of the six major categories, missing only assists. Nonn has scored in all but one game for the Hokies this season and has not missed a start in her four-year career.
The middie was recently named ACC Offensive Player of the Week for her role in the 10-9 overtime win over then-No. 7 Virginia. Nonn scored the final three goals of the game for the Hokies, including the game-winner in extra time.
