Nonn named ACC Player of the Week
Senior leader tallies four goals in historic win

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior midfielder Jessica Nonn was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week for her role in the win over No. 7 Virginia, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. Duke’s Gabby Moise, a freshman defender, was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week.

Nonn scored four goals in Tech’s 10-9 overtime defeat of No. 7 Virginia to give the Hokies their first ever win over the in-state rival, as well as their first win over a top-10 team. The Catonsville, Md., native put away the final three Tech goals of the game, as she tied the game at 8-8, scored the go-ahead goal late in regulation and buried the eventual game-winner with two minutes left in overtime.

This is the first time in her career that Nonn has earned the conference honor, which comes a day after she was named WomensLax.com Player of the Week.
