BLACKSBURG, Va. – Senior attack Allie Emala was named a Third Team All-American by SynapseSports.com over Memorial Day Weekend prior to the NCAA National Championship Game. Emala finished her Tech career this season as the all-time draw controls leader, while also ranking in the top five at Virginia Tech in three other categories.
The Baltimore, Md., native led the team this season in scoring with 43 goals, points with 59 and draw controls with 60 on the year. Emala was also tied for second on the squad with 16 assists in her final outing. The two-year team captain left a lasting mark on the Tech program, notching herself at second all-time with 187 career points and 138 goals in her career as a four-year starter.
