In-season – the two word duo that every athlete relates to. Every sacrifice, every early morning practice, every bruise and every push to run those last few sprints, all become worth it when you step onto the field knowing that you have prepared yourself for what is to come. As we take the field for our last few preseason practices, Virginia Tech women’s lacrosse anticipates the caliber of lacrosse we will be facing in the next few months and attack it head on. Overcoming adversity is a perfect way to describe mini-camp, the crisp January weather could not defeat our Hokie spirits once we picked up our sticks and hit the field.
In the past week we have completed our run tests, two-a-day practices and stick work combos, readying ourselves to represent our Hokie Nation starting on February 8th. We are excited to see the progress we have made with our training this past semester and finally put it into play. From the anxious expressions on the freshmen’s faces to the experienced encouragement from the seniors, I know we are prepared to dive into this season and prove to each other that our hard work has all been worth it. Success is at our finger tips and we are eager to play some HOKIE lacrosse.
