BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men’s and women’s cross country programs announced Wednesday the schedule of upcoming meets for the fall season.
Both teams open the 2015 campaign at the Hokie Invite held at the Hokies’ Buford Meredith Cross Country Course on Sept. 4. Two weeks later, the Hokies participate in another home meet, the VT Alumni Invite on Sept. 18.
Tech then travels to Princeton, New Jersey, for the Princeton Invite on Oct. 3 and to Louisville, Kentucky, on Oct. 17 for the NCAA Pre-National Meet. The Hokies close October with the ACC Championships, which will be held in Tallahassee, Florida, this year on Oct. 30. Both Tech squads finished in sixth place at the ACC Championships last season.
Tech’s third and final home meet will be the Hokie Open held Nov. 6 at the Buford Meredith course.
The Hokies close the season with the NCAA Southeast Regional on Nov. 13, which will be held in Charlottesville, Virginia, and with the NCAA Division I Invitational (for those who qualify) on Nov. 21. The NCAAs are held in Louisville.
The Tech women’s team finished in fourth place at the NCAA Southeast Regional last season and received an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships for just the second time in school history (2006). The Hokies finished 25th as a team at the NCAAs.
