BLACKSBURG, Va. – The 22nd-ranked Virginia tech women’s cross country team and the Hokies’ men’s cross country team will host several nationally ranked opponents for the VT Alumni Invite this Friday at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
The women come into the season already receiving national attention being ranked No. 22 in the national poll and No. 6 in the regional poll. Several quality competitors, including national championship participant Sarah Rapp and All-ACC selection Courtney Dobbs, return to the fold for the Hokies. The women will welcome Florida State who is ranked No. 6 to compete in the meet.
The men’s team will also play host to several quality opponents. UNC who is ranked 19th in the nation will be competing in the meet as well as Florida State who is ranked 25th nationally.
The alumni race will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the women’s race following at 6 p.m. The meet will conclude after the men’s race at 6:40 p.m.
