INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After quality performances at the ACC Championships and the NCAA Southeast Regional, junior Sarah Rapp earned an at-large individual qualifying bid to the 2013 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 23 as announced by the NCAA on Saturday.
Rapp finished eighth at the NCAA Southeast Regional in the women’s 6K run with a personal best time of 20:34.4, leading the Hokies to a fifth place finish overall. The junior finished 13th overall at the ACC Championships helping Tech to an eighth-place finish overall.
Rapp will join fellow Tech runner Thomas Curtin at the NCAA Cross Country Championships as he received an automatic qualifying bid to the race after finishing fourth individually at the regional.
Indiana State will host the championships at the Wabash Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The men’s race will begin at noon and the women’s race will begin at 1:15 p.m.
